Antique (1898) 18ct Gold Albert Watch Chain
18ct gold Albert watch chains are becoming increasingly difficult to find on the secondhand market. But this one is not just any watch chain. It is over 125 years old and it appears to have been kept safely for all that time, as it is as beautiful as the day it was made. The hallmarked links are all as crisp a when they were struck and the entire piece is original to each other - there has been no replacements. Because the chain is made to the highest quality and in fantastic condition, you can wear it all day every day.
The solid curb links are all uniform in size and it sits perfectly around your neck with either the T bar hanging like a pendant or the dog clasps to the front holding your favourite pendants.
The chain is made from solid 18ct yellow gold with a soft glow to it from its many years of life.
Hallmarks: Every link is stamped with "Crown 18", still incredibly clear and crisp. The T bar is stamped "Crown 18" and a makers mark "EW&S". Both dog clasps are stamped "Crown 18" and matching makers marks on each "EW&S". There is an assay mark and date letter on an end ring with a leopard head for London and a date letter for the year 1898.
Condition: The chain is in fantastic antique condition. Both clasps are strong and springy.
