Antique (1919) 9ct Gold Albert Watch Chain with Sliding T-bar
This piece would have been an essential (yet stunning!) piece for a gentleman's pocket watch and has now become a desireable piece of jewellery to wear around our necks (or wrists!). An antique pocket watch chain comes with so much history and is the perfect addition to any jewellery collection. This one is a beauty with hallmarks on every single link, a unique open curb link, double dog clasps and a sliding T bar. It really ticks all the boxes.
And it is all original - meaning it hasn't been chopped and changed. This is the exact piece as it was from over 100 years ago. And it is in absolutely stunning condition.
The entire piece is a gorgeous slightly warm 9ct gold with a softness to it that you can only get from its age. All of the links are solid through and through and it sits at a perfect length in a stack.
Hallmarks: Every link is stamped 9.375 for 9ct gold. The T bar is stamped 9.375 with the addition of an anchor for Birmingham and a makers mark "JG&S". Both dog clasps and a central link also show the same makers mark. There is also a date letter for the year 1919 to one of the links.
Condition: The chain is in fantastic antique condition. Dog clasps are both strong and springy.
