Antique (1931) Old Cut Diamond Daisy Ring
This old cut diamond ring is a beautiful strong feminine ring that is a total sparkler. The chunky deep cut old mine diamonds with their wonky facets and exceptional fire give it a proper old feel. These diamonds have such a unique sparkle to them and the whole ring is incredibly gorgeous.
She is a special one as she has managed to retain her original hallmarks so we can date her to exactly 1931.
The setting of the diamonds is meant to replicate the shape of a daisy flower. We love the softness of the halo setting and the good sized prong set central diamond. A lot of times you’ll see daisy rings with heavy settings that detract from the stones, but this one is set to really showcase the diamonds.
The central diamond is approx .35cts surrounded by a halo of 8 .09ct diamonds. The total diamond weight is approximately just over 1 ct of old hand cut diamonds. The diamonds have been graded in their setting as J/K colour and VS1-2. They are all eye clean and the inclusions can only be seen under magnification.
Hallmarks: 18, anchor for Birmingham, date letter for 1931. The setting holding the diamonds is topped in platinum.
Condition: The ring is in excellent condition with light wear commensurate with age. The band is in excellent shape and thickness. All prongs are present and the diamonds are secure.
